DVD Advanced System

I have an E70 3.0 delivery date of 4/17/07 (Happy Tax Day)

If BMW makes it, it was ordered with it. With 2 exceptions I deleted the rear entertainment when I found BMW NA site has a “DVD Advanced System” second was the Sirius. The DVD Advanced System includes 2 screens on the backrests but it is dealer installed. Has anybody played with this setup? Also, I had a 2003 X5 and installed the hitch, no big deal, just a lot of time. This one has me worried though, should I have the DVD installed or do it myself? I’ve already committed to installing the hitch on the new X5 myself

I would take a look at the Invision system. Much cheaper and a good warranty.

Hi everybody,

What is the price of Invision's kit for E70?

Do they send to Europe?

Thanks,
Jorge

Thinson,

I am with you re the RES. The killer for me was 2 fold: location of the screen, will be kicked by the little ones legs day in day out, angle of vision is not great either. 2nd point was no full control from the front and single DVD player. Will look at a headrest solution later. Thinking about a Hard Drive based solutions on the top of the DVD. Will start looking at what is out there when I get closer to delivery.

with going with Invision. I have their Revolution II system in my E53. It works very well and looks great. I especially like it over the E70 system because it is right in your line of sight and there are two monitors so rear seat passengers don't have to turn towards the middle, and down low at that. Plus you can watch different video sources on each monitor, like in the picture below. See this link for more pictures and information.

Can't quote you a price but I do know that they have shipped or arranged a sale to European customers before. Contact our member here, acedeucy. He's the BMW rep for Invision.

BMW advanced DVD system

Very nice product! If I still had my E53 or I had the sport seats on the E70. With the comfort seats the headrests are a bit tricky. Perhaps they have a solution w/o loosing the cool headrests offered w/comfort seat.

Check out BMW advanced DVD system; two headrest screens and keep your comfort seat headrests

Please feel free to contact me and yes I can accomodate shipping to Europe as well as region coding for your Country so you can watch both American and European DVD's with the product. I will be in the office all day and I look forward to speaking with you.

THe INViSiON Revolution system can be installed into a vehicle with comfort seats and you will not lose the vertical movement of the acuator, however if you refer to the pictures from PersonaNonGrata that is the shape of the headrests. You do get to keep your BMW headrests to put back into the vehicle after you get rid of it therfore restoring the car back to it's original condition.

SAAV is a great company that builds really cool stuff and I love the touch screen panels however I wasn't aware that they can accomodate for the 2007 E70 Power Headrest or even late model E53 X5's and still allow the vertical movement of the acuator and headrest.

Also have you ever tried to clean a touch screen panel after it has been used by kids eating PB & J and sticky foods like candy.

Not a pretty sight!
