Wax/Grease Draining from Doors (stains)
My front doors and rear hatch have begun draining a waxy/greasy substance. The stuff leaks out of some obvious drain holes. Problem: it is very difficult to remove from the paint and impossible to remove from the bumper.
It's disgusting. The rear bumper is the worst, as it has two very large and very noticeable yellow stains running from the hatch all the way to the bottom of the bumper. The stuff is embedded in the plastic. My SA said it's a wax that BMW uses to coat the inside of the door panels, and when it gets "Florida hot," the wax melts and runs off. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what are the solutions? |

I have this on my X5 as well, and I do not live in a very warm place, so the Florida-hot argument is bull. I haven't figured out how to remove it either.

I have the same problem from the rear hatch. A little windex and a rag takes it off with a little pressure. I also removed the small rubber plugs where it's leaking from and cleaned out as much as possible with a Q tip.
It's absurd that they use a material that runs out when warm.
