4.8 Underpowered compare to 4.4

It mentioned at the end that they wouldn't mind if BMW added some more ponies to it. I was wondering if it would matter at all, when I test drove the 4.8 it didn't feel as quick as my current 2001 4.4.

My X5 has 282 hps compared to the new 4.8 with 350 hps. Granted the new X5 is heavier but how much do you think is needed to make it as quick as the old X5?

Any thoughts?

i feel the same way. I test droved the 4.8, dosen't feel as quick as the old 4.4
