The recent Fords have improved a bit. However, I can't get over how crude and unshapely the interior (and to a certain extent, the exterior) design is. It doesn't exude refinement or elegance. Nor is it particularly innovative or nifty. Plus, it can get pricey and it's quite heavy. I sat in a couple at the auto show, and wasn't impressed.

Just in case you haven't seen it. Must be marketing to the un-automotive types. Pretty sad.

Makes no difference if the Ford is slightly faster. So is a lot of cars. Nobody's bying "ultimate speed experience" if one chooses X5 (i guess). But the "better than Beemer" argument means a lot for those who can not afford or just don't want to spend money on proper cars. And besides, when i'm packing my kid, wife and dogs into my car, there is no time for acceleration comparisons...
I have owned a 4x4 Ford Sierra Cosworth back in the nineties, which was the crappiest car ever. Fast, but crude and unreliable.

Its a absolute cheezy ad! I can't believe anyone in the Ford marketing department let this one slip through.

BTW, what does that sign say...the one the couple is holding in the ad? Bought a lemon? lol

Bimmer = car
Beemer = bike

In the uk most people call both cars and bikes Beemers. I've never heard anyone refer to them as bimmers.
