OK guys, can anybody tell me where to hide a spare key?
I understand that people on the forum don't want to disclose such things but maybe some of you guys from the States can send me a PM, slim chance that we will ever meet and that I will recognize your vehicle and take advantage of that knowledge . |

I have seen magnetic key boxes here in the UK designed to hold a spare key and then attach to concealed place on car. As for where to put your key, I think that it will be difficult to find a place in easy reach. Possibly getting down low at the front and reaching in under the bumper to find a suitable point in the lower part of the engine bay.

THere is a plastic key that needs the other part as well. The plastic only opens the doors in case you're locked out. I put the plastic part in my wallet - and the piece it needs to start the car in the glove compartment. I don't know if this only comes with comfort access (probably not) but it's a very convenient way to always have your spare. Of course if you're a lady with a purse who doesn't carry a wallet - then I guess you'd need one of those magnets to hide under the car.

I wouldn't hide a key on the outside. Just carry the plastic valet key in your wallet.
Btw- gotta love OnStar... no need for magnetic key holders or plastic keys.

btw- w/ 2007 BMW Assist, it is just like On-Star...remote unlock, concierge, directions uploaded to nav, stolen vehicle tracking, sat, etc. No need for magnetic key holders or plastic keys.
