PCD at last!

I'm almost the owner of a new E70 -- I've handed over a check and received a bill of sale -- I just haven't seen it yet.

It's been a longish wait; ordered my X5 on Feb. 20 (with a couple of "April build" options), it was completed on April 9. I'm writing this from my room at the Greenville Marriott, tomorrow I'll be off to the Performance Center and a chance to drive it at last. In my bag I've got a pair of license plates, a registration form and an insurance card... and a V1 .

According to a post on another site by one of the PC Delivery Specialists, BMW will be suspending tours of the factory on June 1 for a period of one year (!) so I hope I'll sneak in under the wire.

Good news! Do bring camera to the center and take a lot of pics. And try to keep your eyes open for X6 test mules. X6 is wider and longer than X5, to give you a hint.

They are discontinuing factory tours as they are making changes to factory for X6. Once again keep your eyes open for X6.

Discontinuing factory tours for a year?

What a shame. I don't see why they can't close off sensitive areas that may show the X6 under development. TYhis certainly make factory delivery less appealing.
