Heated seats question?
The manual says you can adjust heat ditribution from seat to backrest via the Idrive by going into the "seat heating distribution" in the "climate menu". Unfortunatly "seat heating distribution" does not appear in my menu. The seat at the moment is very hot and the backrest not so therefore adjustment would be great. Anybody have any answer on this one. Called the agent and they have no answer.

I have the same problem. I have seat heating, but no "seat heating distribution" in the iDrive.
Perhaps it is only for the confort seats ? I have the sport seats. Here what normaly appears, but not on mine !

The price for seat heating is the same for sport or standard seats therfore one would assume the heat distriution function should be the same. Does anybody with the standard seats (with memory) have the distribution working. Is there a place on this forum to actually check the specs of the various seats. There is a thread on this. From my experience, only pre-production X5s had this. (like the first batch of demos).

It's a standard feature across the BMW range to be able to change the seat heating distribution. Sounds like a problem BMW need to sort out pronto, what have your dealers said?

My dealer does not even know it is in the manual and says he will look into it. I am not expecting a promt answer, Hope I get one before winter passes. I am also still waiting for the nav dvd that should have been delivered last week with the vechicle.
I must say it really drives beautifully and I am still as excited as child. |

works fine on my E70.
see photos, I can change distribution from seat bottom to back and intensity. The Idrive menu comes up when you push the button on the dash to turn the heater on. push once for full heat, twice to reduce to medium setting and a third time to put on low. Then twist the Idrive knob to change the distribution. I dont think you can access this directly in the menus, it only comes up when you turn on the heater.
