2008 E70 Production

Does anybody know when the 2008 X5 is going in to production. I went to the dealer last month and ordered a 2007 Space Gray over Tobacco with sport pack, prem. pack, climate pack., tech. pack, comfort access, running boards, heated seats, MSRP 59,425. The dealer took my $1000 deposit immeadiately but it seems the order wasn't put in until a few weeks later(I went there on May 30 and placed the order, it wasn't ordered until the week of June 13th). Now the dealership says the X5 won't go into production until late August and won't arrive until mid to late September. I figured if the 2008's go into production just a month or 2 later, I might as well wait. So, my questions are does anyone know when the 08 goes into production, and has anyone experienced a delayed arrival of their vehicle?

By the way, this is my first post so sorry if this is a bump.

I was wondering the same thing, I have a 2001 X5 now that is a May 2000 build. I would assume that 08 production should start soon...

I just spoke with a SA at BMW of Dallas. He told me the delay issue was probably due to them not having a spot allocated, and that the 2008 production would start in mid september and delivery would be taken in mid to late october. Thanks for all the help guys!

Mid to late September is right. Check this site in September when production starts.

It was ORR BMW of Shreveport.. They seem pretty incompetent to me, a very small dealership. I found out that the reason they wont get mine until September is because they dont have enough allocations!!! So I THINK I've made up my mind, I'm going to cancel the order from ORR BMW and tell AMEX to get my $1000 deposit back, then I'm going to call BMW of DALLAS and place an order for an '08 Friday morning! Any opinions? Should I get the '08 or just stick with my order as is?

I am placing my order on monday and I have a august build due end of august, I think you got shafted.
and yes 08 arent goign to be here till november, I couldnt wait that long, unless it would have been the turbo diseil, or even gas one.

moritz bmw in arlington and autobahn in fort worth both have more then one allocation for august.
