I think you have to push the front foglight switch everytime you shut off the ignition. The last BMW with a seperate switch was the E39.

Why would you want your foglights on all the time anyways? Foglights are meant for fog, not looks.

it's more about visibility than anything else

FYI, i keep mine turned off.
and many cars (x5's included) have come the opposite direction with there foglights on and they're not blinding at all.

Are the low beams insufficient? You can try adjusting the aim of your headlights. I rarely find the foglights really necessary with my xenons, even with fog.

With the new X5 with Xenon lights the two inside lights are simply used to light the angel eyes, they are really just parking lights now.

The X5 E53 with xenon lights actually had these inner two lights as driving lights so overall I would say my old E53 had better lights because it actually had more lights overall. I do a fair amount of country night driving and am a little disappointed in the light power on the E70 which has xenon lights.

I miss the Auto wipers being on permanently in my old Audi's and VW's. I consider myself to be a NON-Moron and would remember to turn off the wipers in the event my car was ever in an automatic carwash. (Which that would never happen anyway)
