iPod Adapter (6FL) Problems?

While using the factory installed iPod adapter, has anyone experienced intermittent switching from the iPod (AUX mode) to FM Mode?? Time varys but it usually occurs within 3-5 minutes of play with the iPod. I noticed on other forums that other new BMW models are experiencing the exact same issue but I haven't noticed any posts on here expressing this problem with the E70 X5.

If you have this problem, what response have you received from dealer with regard to this problem? If your dealer resolved the issue, please advise as well.

Thanks much....

Got that X5 yet?

Hopefully mine will be ready at 4:30pm today after the new control arm install has been done.

on my brand new X5, it occasionally drops into FM after a few minutes, but not always.

Hi Mate,

Glad to here your X5 is ok and you like it.

They put the new control arms in and the X5 is worse, under brakes I have to pull righthand down to keep it on the road straight and if I want to change lands now all I do is take the pressure off the steering wheel and goes to the lefthand lane straight away.

Its so bad now if I am on the otherdise of the road (RH lane with camber on the road going to the right it will actually drive left up the opposite camber, now that's bad.

The new arms they put in gave camber adjust not castor, even the mechcanic that put them in said it would not work and that caster adjust is required.

Anyway they are putting the old control arms back in because the X5 is now dangerous to drive.

Just told the dealer I want new X5 and they are getting this one back.

just reported to my SA that mine had done this 2 or 3 times, but not "regularly" so he said he'd have to check with BMW to see if they'll let him replace the parts as the parts replacement is only authorized if it's frequent.. apparently, some cars only need a software patch, while others need both parts and software. He is also having to do the same with my DVD player for the rear entertainment. I guess they can't just change parts out as they deem fit without first checking with BMW to see if that makes sense. Which is a good thing I suppose.

Hi! This is my first post here. I'm looking for some information about this particular option (6FL). Does it correspond to the factory-installed option described on the iPodYourBMW website ?

Also, iPodYourBMW claims that you can sort your library by artist, album etc. but this article here says otherwise. My guess is that the article I linked to refers either to an option available on the previous (X53) model, or to to a kit that can be installed afterwards. Can someone confirm that the 6FL option can sort your library as described on iPodYourBMW ? And does it also show song names on the main display ?

Oh, and if someone has a 6FL installation that is working properly, I'd like to hear about you (looks like most people are having issues here)

(if you think I should start a new topic for my question, please tell me)

I have not been able to go by Artist / Album.. I've just got play lists on mine, but then it could be user error.
