I just went to the Zaino website to purchase but there's so many choices. I have been using nu finish and time to upgrade to the real wax. As you can tell, I'm not a wax expert so any advise will be greatly appreciated. Which product should I buy to get that "glass" showroom effect?

with Zaino, you can over do it if you let yourself.. if your paint is relatively new, just get the Z1 prep, and the Z2 polish... IF, and only IF you live in a humid area where it could take a long time to dry, and if aren't patient, you c an get the ZFX which will cause the Z2 to dry faster so you can buff it off.

Then apply the Z1 to the car, and follow that immediately (without first buffing off the Z1) with Z2, then by the time you get back to the spot you started with, you are ready to buff off the Z2... then apply Z2 as many times as you like.. the more layers, the better the protection and shine. On my new X5, I did 3 layers of Z2, and I will likely follow up with an additional layer every 6 months or so... it will look like new for the rest of it's life.

Thanks MD11F. Placing an order today. I will have the wax ready before the E70 even gets to my driveway. It should make my 2 year old C230 Sport look like new again.

Use "Dawn" on your old car, to strip whatever wax junk is on there;
a clay job, on the 230 may be in order, if you are in the mood.

The trick w/Z is to do it on a not so humid and preferably a warmish
day, as the low humidty and warmer temps really help the drying process.
I've used Z in indirect sunlight, too.

The other key is "less is more": no need to gob on the Z1 and/or Z2 coats.
Z1 stuff should be dry though, before you do Z2. After that, an occasional
Z2 coat and/or Z6 spritz, will keep your ride looking fine.

It is not as labor intensive as detractors suggest, esp. after the first
go round. And, imo in 45 years of "waxing" stuff, I have not seen anything
better, esp. for protection and "relase" of crud on your next wash or
Z wax job.

Prep is everything. Prep well and take your time on the first attempt.

Just a comment that Z1 has been superceded....
Please note: ZFX™ Flash Cure Accelerator Additive replaces Z-1™ Polish Lok and is superior to Z-1™ Polish Lok. Z-1™ Polish Lok is NOT necessary when using ZFX™ Flash Cure Accelerator Additive. See the ZFX™ Flash Cure Accelerator Additive page for details.

Some of you are probably aware that I'm a Chemical Guys fan. I've been using their products for the past year not only because their stuff is good, but also because I've established a few friendships with the folks who work in their Inglewood warehouse. Being able to drive to their warehouse to buy product and get face to face instructions on how to detail by their folks is a big plus in my book.

Anyways, I bought a tin of Chemical Guys 5050 Concours Paste two weeks ago which is going on my Sapphire Black 530xit hopefully next weekend depending on commitments. After I clay my car, I'm going to PC the hood with CG Diamond Cut 2000 which is similar to Meguiar's Mirror Glaze to get rid of some water spots. I'll seal it and then I'll put on the 5050 paste. I'll post up the pics of the finished job. Hopefully, I'll duplicate the results I've been seeing on autopia.org of detail jobs using CG 5050. There are some detailers who are saying it's as good as, if not better than Souveran or Zaino.
