Nice! I called the company and they said these should work for the X5 just fine. You just saved me over $300 dollars. Thanks.

I am confused after reading this. I thought you don't need to put any chains on 4 wheels drive like X5??? Are the 18/19/20" tire not capable to running on snow condition?

I'm getting an E70 with 19" wheels. Do you know if I can put snow cables on the 19's? I normally go skiing up here in California in the winter and sometimes the conditions require snow chains/cables.

Thanks

The X5 is very capable even though the tire manufacturers does not recommend 19" and larger tires for snow driving. However, here in CA, depending on snow and road conditions, the CHP will require snow chains on any vehicle weather you have a 4x4 or sedan. I've driven my E53 on fresh foot of snow (with 18's) on my way to Mammoth and it handled great, while the other cars and SUVs were all sliding and driving so slow just to keep up. The highway patrol will stop traffic on the freeway and require snow chains depending on how much snow is on the ground and when it gets icy and beleive me, they won't let you go anywhere without chains even with a very capable 4x4.
