Winter Wheels and Tires Arrived

Yeah, I know it is just a bit early, but I went ahead and got my winter setup.

They are 18" 177s fitted with Goodyear Eagle UltraGrip Winter run-flats.

Here are a couple pics:

So come mid to late Oct, I figure I will have them put on.

Bring winter on.

1850€ Complete... I think the price is OK, what do the rest of you think? They are OEM wheels and came as complete assemblies.

Nice!

I'm getting an E70 with 19" wheels. Do you know if I can put snow cables on the 19's? I normally go skiing up here in California in the winter and sometimes the conditions require snow chains/cables.

Thanks

Good idea......

I was just thinking how all the guys on here would get on with their 21" wheels/Tyres in snowy weather........assuming at least some of them will be taken on skiing trips...

I currently only have 19"s on mine, and will be looking to get a twin turbo or X6 next year, i want 21's but can't imgine them being very useful in the snow.....don't suppose there will be any snowchains in that size either..?

I found this part number for you: 36110426949 set of 2 for 225/55R18 or 255/50R19. they appear to be quite pricey though. Please double check this info if you do try to order them though. I suggest you just google that part number for more info.

Damn you are right, I googled the part number and they cost like over $400 dollars. I'll check if they have aftermarket ones. If not I'll just have to get them. Still cheaper than getting a set of winter wheels since I only use them about 9 to 10 times a year.

Thanks for the info.

I am gettin' the 212s cause they are the only 19s with 255 at the rear (dont wanna go wider in the snow). Luckily they seem to be the prettiest too.

Check out these. Don't know if they are appropriate for the X5; however they do seem to have some other options as well

Do chains have to be fitted to the rear on the new X5 as was the case with the old model, due to clearance on the suspension arm ??
