I don't think it is a "must" either. At night, I feel it's safer to press the unlock button when I'm a good distance from the vehicle, so the exterior and interior lights go on, Just my personal preference. It's also nice to let in passengers who reach the vehicle before the driver does. Just my opinion.

I now find myself constantly going for the door handle on my Mercedes and wondering why it's not unlocking! It's like Magic... then there's the whole fumble for a key to start the engine.. the MB feels downright dated without it.

What's the range on CA .. is it a matter of meters or less.. for example if you were standing close by could someone open the door or start the engine... ?

and it's amazingly smart so that if the key is inside the car, it won't let a stranger open your door. I knows if the key is standing right outside the car or not! I amaze my friends with it all the time!

Antennas all around the vehicle inside and out. The vehicle can tell exactly where your standing.

You guys suck. With all these talk, I wish I ordered the option. Too late now, taking delivery tomorrow. Oh well, maybe in 3 years.
