All X5's are built in the U.S.

Thanks SuperGreg. Do you know if this option (standard roof rail with alu coating) is available in the US? I wonder if this is expensive.

Included in the M-Kit option (not for US market).

3abood .. im guessing that if you press that button then automatically when you shift the gear to P , the parking brake is put on and when u shift it to D or R , the parking break is released .. not sure tho ..

My understanding is that it is the same as the auto brake on the seven series. If you come to a standstill, say at a set of lights, the car automatically engages the handbrake and when you depress the accelerator it moves off. Saves keeping your foot on the foot brake.

im guessing that too .. otherwise i dunno know what an option like that would do but btw if you're on an inclined level and at the same time on a traffic signal then the parking brake would not be strong enough to preven the car rolling backwards hence you would still have to keep your foot on the brakes

I cant comment on the X5's ability with this option but certainly when I had the 7 series it did not have that problem on any inclines whether give ways or lights or for extended periods.

I use the handbrake alot on the X when I am at lights etc, as its easy to apply and take off and again I have never had that problem.

The transmission also remains in drive which also holds the vehicle in position sometimes this alone can hold the X on an incline.
