Dropped off the X5 today

So I dropped off the X today at Fields BMW to get the recall and other stuff fixed.

-Recall for resv. cap

-New iDrive software?

-Rear wiper cover part fell off

-Backup Camera is broken

-Starting to have less airflow to the side vents (can someone remind me of the fix??)

They said they may need to keep it 'till Monday.

A service guy gladly drove me back to my house, and we talked about the new X5. He said that mainly, no issues with the X5. First time he ever heard about the backup camera was mine, today. The biggest issue was, he said, that on some X5's, in the first 300 mi, the engine would say "malfunction". It turns out the software they loaded onto those cars was from the 4.4i E53. It took 6 months to get the software in from Germany, and they had FOURTY X5s to fix, just at that dealer. I didn't ask about the '08, figured I'd get the same answer as the rest of you, nothing.

I will keep you guys updated

Rear wiper part fell off on mine as well.
i ordered the replacement piece myself as it costs 4 dollars and i didn't want to have to deal with service after my last ordeal.
if it falls off again then i'll take it in.

go into idrive and make sure the adjustments are maxed out and are BLUE....if they are RED this will reduce airflow.

also do you have rear air? if so when its on the front air acts screwy...according to my service guy the ac is "normal"

OK, thanks X5FX. Dealer said make sure all vents are maxed out on airflow, and that usually A/C is directed in the center vents, and heat on the sides, but you can tinker with it. I do have rear air, it is usually off, or on a low fan setting. Thanks

I have it back now- the dealer ordered a part (the entire rear backup cam) and it is being shipped from Germany, so no use for them to hold the car. They didn't fix the rear wiper, iDrive, a/c, or recall yet. I expect to bring it in Thurs.

what they going to do about the rear wiper?
i simply replaced the cover that fell off. i'm guessing they'll do the same.
let me know if it's otherwise.

they'll probably just pop a new cover on when I take it back next week. Not a biggie.
