The Active seat package comes with the Multi-Contour seats, so you have to have them, but not pay for both options since the price of the seats is already in the price of the Active seat package. Are you saying the dealer is trying to charge you another $1200.00 for the seats on top of the active seat package price? That's double dipping if so.

Yeah, that's exactly what my CA was doing, but I truly believe it's an honest mistake. I will report back here when the corrections are made, thanks!

Why is my CA telling me that ZAV does not include multi contour seats and that when he tries to uncheck it from his system, it says that ZAV must also be removed?

It seems pretty clear that 456 Multi-Contour Seats is part of the ZAV, and the only "Notes" about ZAV are that you have to get perforated leather, and either front heated seats or ZCW (cold weather package). If the Multi-Contour Seats were not included in ZAV it would not be listed as part of the package AND at the very least there would have been a Note saying that "ZAV must be ordered with 456 Multi-Contour Seats"...........but there is no such Note.

I think either BMW's ordering system has a bug, or it may require that 456 Multi-Contour Seats be checked, but then it should automatically change its price to "$0" or "NC".

I completely agree with you... here's my update:

CA just told me he didn't know why his sytem did not allow him to take off the $1200 extra it was showing for the multi contour seats, without it prompting him to also take away ZAV. Which is strange because ZAV already includes multi contour seats, so there should not be an added $1200 cost.

He's going to check with BMW on Monday and give me the status.

Has anyone had a similar issue?

Yeah, hopefully it will be cleared up on Monday. Even the "Build Your Own X5" on BMWUSA.com does not charge the extra $1200......although it's still for the 2007 X5. Notice that there is a grayed our check mark under Multi-Contour Seats in the picture below, but in the options list on the right side there is "Active Ventilated Seats" for $2100, but no listing (and price) for Multi-Contour Seats.

So either the 2008 Options/Packages Price list released by BMW NA is wrong, or the order entry system is wrong. I would guess it's the latter.

I thought I'm the only one having problem with that extra $1,200 for Active Ventilated seat.
I went to dealershop today and he told me I have to pay extra $1,200 for the Active Ventilated seat. He couldn't explain clearly but since I have Sport Package, I have to pay extra money to upgrade the seat from Sport seat... which sounds totally crazy to me.

I think BMW is trying to steal some more money from customers..
