New 08 X5 Inauspicious Beginning

There've been numerous problems with my E70.
Just TOO often the dealer says he's no idea how to fix them BECAUSE IT'S A NEW MODEL!!!
I'm still waiting for parts on back order after over a month..

Got my new X5 returned today and the dealer said it was a software error that caused the malfunction. The reprogrammed the car and delivered it again. Put on 15 miles so far and, keeping fingers crossed, is driving fine.

Can now say happy to join all of you other X5 owners!!!

sounds like we're heading to another firmware version...

did you by any chance find out what version they are now up to??

it's probably too late now...but the info will definitely help all other 08 owners picking up their SAVs over the next few weeks..

i will definitely make sure mine is on the latest version before taking delivery...just in case...

no guarrantees but it does improve your chances of getting a more reliable vehicle...

Sounds like maybe the software didn't take or got corrupted first time around. Was this the case or was it "new" software - which would be hard to beleive considering it was just released as an 08.

could be... it takes 4-6 hours for each update!!

most shops don't want to bother with it unless you force them...(or you're lucky enough to be working with a cooperative dealership)

I had 27.1 loaded yesterday. It crashed first time round and required to be redone. They unexpectedly had to keep the SAV over night.
