ambient lighting... one of the only reasons I'm spending 2k+ on the premium package. I wish it would come separately.

rh71,

Are you buying the 08 or waiting for the diesel? This whole process of no information from BMW is very frustrating! I held off on the 05 & 06 because of the facelift, the 07 because of the diesel and I'm unsure of the 08 now.

I'm in limbo right now, but I guess if my wife gets pregnant anytime soon, I'm gonna have to pull the trigger sooner than later. My 13-year old truck is very unsafe... no airbags and had a very bad crash rating to begin with. I really want to get it soon and just looking for a reason to. Otherwise, 1-year away for a twin turbo is just soooooo close... but sooooo far, then I gotta factor in delivery time, plus a possible $5k premium.

Instant gratification vs. do I really need that turbo...

Dont for get to factor in the expense of having a baby: babysitter, diapers, formula, etc....
Additionally when you are talking about safety, why pregnancy should change how safe your ride should be, shouldnt you start to worry for safety of future mother of your child?
I say dont wait, you will upgrade the car if necessary few years down the road, for now you will enjoy whats currently out there.

There is one German chip tuning company that sells German TUV certified chip kit for the E70, boosting its performance close to the sD torque and HP. I plan to get one soon.
I tried the sD (twin turbo) in the X3, its fantastic for acceleration... You can make many sports car drivers blush with it.

^ would that void the warranty though?

The site also indicates we should be using 98+ octane... we can only go as high as 93 here.

Please post and let us know how it goes. Does it also void warranty and what is the cost?

This post explains AUTO-H with pics! I also see the auto-h in my cluster but I guess its for '08 only.

For the LED light on the door handle, u can only have it on when you just leave and enter the car based on the time you set it to stay on from I-Drive..
Any idea if you can turn on the LED lights on the door handle WHEN you want ?

the sales man set mine for me during the walk through. Mine just omces on when i open the door in the dark or push the lock button twice. THFM helps sometimes, but there are so many options with this iDrive.
