I went ahead did the install. It turned out to be easy. The main trick in removing the original reflectors is to slide the flat head along the two sides where the tape lies (logical).

The clear replacements that I purchased from eBay did not fill as the original ambers. It might have been due to the thick 3M adhesive (I noticed the original adhesive was much thinner). But overall, it was acceptable.

Here are a couple pics (taken immediately after the install in the poorly lit garage):

I just ordered and received a set of the clear ones. While they are nice the tape and or depth of the reflector conspire to leave them recessed into the original space. This leaves a gap (which is unpainted) and at least IMO looks awful.

Anyone have any suggestions for a better quality tape or a set that worked out more flush?

I actually ended up stretching the adhesive which gave me back some of the depth and looked much better...

This was an awesome write up and I used it to change my reflectors. Thanks.

The only thing I would add is on the driver side once you have taken all the crews out, dont be scared to yank the front bumber just below the fog light to release the clip. This made me very nervous and I was trying to squeeze my hand in to avoid yanking it out. In the end I yanked it in frustration and it came out nicely.

If you the have the 3.0, the procedure is the same for the driver's side as the passenger's side; no oil cooler behind the plastic bodywork.

I just replaced mine.

Thanks for the write-up.

Where did u find those 4 other screws? I don't see them. I also ave the aero kit, is the process more difficult to access the driver's side with the aero kit on?

Not sure what screws were being referred to but I didn't take my areo kit off. You might want to take it off (as it's only held on by 5 or so screws). Or maybe just unscrew the two scews on the driver's side of it.

Just did mine today - thanks for the DIY - mine is a 35i Premium and doesn't have the cooler in the driver side fender, so both sides where easy right through the front grills!
