I also want to find out if anyone has removed the backing of the seat so I can route the headrest post wires.

I was hoping someone already have done it before I try and break something.

I have not done this mod. However, try going to www.realoem.com you can pull up schematics for the seat, seat back and console. This may help you understand how it is assembled.
