Interesting on the Fob, on my Tourareg I have to push the button the trunk as well, that is the only way to close it, but I can open it from the keyfob and driver's side door

I so hope that the European versions are going to have the ability to close the door by using the fob. I would be very disappointed if not.

Please report back when you get it.
Also can you do all windows up from remote, just like we all can do windows down (including sunroof)?

In US you can only do windows up with an actual key in the door when you are present next to the vehicle.

My car doesn't arrive until next month (it's mid atlantic currently) but I am pretty sure that you can close all the windows from the remote. Every BMW I have had dating back more than 10 years have been able to do that, my M3 Convertible allowed you to close the roof from the remote. There definitely weren't anti-trap features on that.

can you close the trunk manually if you want? just grab it and slam it closed? will that work?

can you open it faster by pushing it up too?

I am glad I did not wait now for the auto tailgate.

If there is no auto close.... it is not really worth it.
I really am shocked that they did not program it that way.

Why is that the case?

It does stink that it's not auto open AND close! ...How much extra $$$ was that option? ...I was in the last production in October, so I couldn't even get it. Everyones complaining about this makes me not feel as bad for not being able to get it! Thanks.

You'll find it in the US too, just not on a BMW.
