Which Mtec bulbs???

Which Mtec bulbs more closely match the H.I.D's...Super White 4350K or Cosmos Blue 4750K? I want to change my Angels and fogs to match the H.I.D.'s and get rid of the yellow hue.

I bought the cosmos blue angel eyes and foglight bulbs and within a week i changed them back because the angel eyes are barely noticable, light that passes through rings seems shattered, not solid and the foglight blubs have a blue tint that seems to reflect too much blue more than anything, It makes it look cheap to be honest. I ordered the 8500k gp thunders and i'll let you know how they turn out when i install them. As for the foglights, I'm going to convert them to hid soon. Dont waste your money on the MTECS. You wont get the results you were hoping for.

How do you access the bulb for the fog light. Do you have to take out the plastic fender liner? Please advise. Thanks.

The MTEC COSMOS blue is too blue for the fogs... others have reported even worse performance on the angels in daytime with the GP's...Personally the angels are ok but I may change to super whites for the fogs as I only run those as turning lights anyway...

underneath the foglights there is a plastic piece which is like a grill cover. The piece where there is a horizonal silver bar in front of a fake black grill. You need to remove that piece by pressing downward on the bar while pulling it outward. There are 3 tabs on top that hold it in place. Dont be afraid to use force, It wont break, Just press down while pulling and it will slowly come out. Someone has a tutorial with pictures on this just search for it.

the Mtecs look horrible even at night time! The lights shatter between blue and purple through the angel eye rings. I can't wait for there to be a LED solution, but bought the GP's just because they were cheap! lol As long as I get consistant color throughout the rings, i'll be happy.

Thanks, Lakai. I'll give it a try tomorrow. Has anyone converted the fog lights to HID? If so, do each individual fog light still turn on when you make a turn?

I have not read any posts where someone has converted foglights to hid on the e70 yet. I'm going to try it when I get back from my vacation in a few weeks. AFAIK from hours of information gathering on this forum as well as other forums, you will probably need to install a relay to prevent a error and keep the lights from flickering. The adaptive cornering lights might pose a new problem in where the HID bulb takes time to charge and would probably create problems since the bulbs are charging and discharging so much more. The best option would be to disable the foglight from being adaptive, or to use LED.

Wow! Thanks for the info. I won't be wasting a few bucks now. I have also considered H.I.D. for the fog, but the wear on the ignitor and ballast is a major concern. Everytime you turn the blinker on the system needs to arc that 25,000 volts and boot the bulbs. That's a lot of short term ignition.
