i have a few options that i'm considering... been researching for the last few months..

i just haven't had the time to closely examine the stock 3.0si exhaust tips to see if they are bolt-ons that can be easily removed....

i also need to take measurements as well as pop out the extra exhaust panel to determine the maximum allowed width, length, etc...

i'll post links of replacement exhaust tips that are compatible once i have these measurements..

I am considering Hartge (www.hartge.de) end pipes. I am going to a shop nearby next week where they will install such endpipes on a E70 next week...

I looked at them but i believe them to be too expensive just for exhaust tips..

is it a DIY bolt-on?

how much are you getting them for???

I heard that BMW is coming out with OEM Exhaust tips identical to the 4.8si. Is that correct? The Hartge exhaust are sweet but it does not appear that they only make them for the deisel versions (3.0d) and not the gasoline (3.0si).

Sam,
I called BMW vandenbroeck (Dilbeek) as they seem to be importer of Hartge for Belgium, but (and this I cannot understand) they do not carry a lot of stock (or worse: no stock). So I asked them to contact me when they have a E70 in who want this exhaust.

Oh and btw, price is not cheap either : 665 euro for the dual-round pipes, 560 for the oval end pipes ...

An OEM BMW 4.8 muffler with oval endpipes has a cost of appr 650 euro, but I wonder if we can fit this to our diesel cars ??? It used to be done a lot on E53's, but never heard of such modifications to E70's... maybe to early ...
