tell him it has been really slow and sometimes it freezes and you need to restart the car to fix it.

It worked for me.

Just be honest and tell him about the poor video on the camera.

Every iDrive will screw up eventually, I took a picture of what it looked like when it failed to boot on my 335. I got upgraded the next visit by showing the photo. I have heard iDrive logs boot faults and other related errors so sometimes the claims of problems will not result is an upgrade.

A Photo of a wacked out screen will work.

Alternatively tell them that your steering wheel doesn't always reset itself to the proper position when you get into the car. The fix for that came in the same software version as the split PDC screen.

I had this issue. I showed the dealer the tech note on it and he changed the software no questions asked. It is a good issue to use as it cannot be easily reproduced at the dealer and it is a known issue.

Go for it. The new software is better looking, faster, fixes bugs and the dual screen camera/PDC is excellent.

I just picked up my X5 tonight after 15k service visit. I told them the Steering Wheel would not reset and they uploaded the latest software. The only improvemenrts I see are the split PDC screen (EXCELLENT!!) and now my local Traffic works correctly. Otherwise if anything its slower.
