I've never been a fan of black wheels but, I did see a white X5 with black wheels the other day and I had to do a double-take. It looked really nice.

I also think your car has to be impeccably clean to pull them off. They look like crap dirty...

Yes, it all comes down to individual taste. I personally don't like the black wheel look. It seems cheesy looking to me. The classic finish is much more classy.

Black on black is trendy these days but if you really want to be trendy you need to go for matte black with black wheels.

To be honest, the E70 is OK dressed in black on black. Gives it a mean look. Having said this, I would do it on mine and I think it looks better on a sports car than on an SUV.

If black wheels are "in" or "trendy" then that is the best reason NOT to get them!

Well, if you're going to paint your OEM wheels then just DON'T! They will look dry and cheap. However, pre-painted black wheels are sometimes sexy but anyhow they get real dirty fastly... well maybe you could try the chrome w/ black wheel combination? I've seen some nice ones around..

Can anyone here post some photos of an AlpineWhite X5 with black wheels, for example 215er BMW wheels in black colour.

Would be interesting to see, how the contrast looks like !

Thx

I am thinking of either 21"/22" wheels on my X5 (I have the 20" but I want more) and I was thinking of getting Black rims. What brand should I get? I want good rims so they would be durable and reliable.
