The Joy is Slipping Away

Parked the car at the ATM today. Got back into the car, started it up, released the parking brake, and put it in reverse. Parking brake failure. So I released the brake per the manual. I can drive now - but the f..king parking brake is gone. Has to be reset by the dealer. What gives when they design a vehicle and actually build in a tool and release mechanism knowing there's going to be parking brake failures? And to top it off, the dealer has to get involved to reset the fricking thing? I'm ranting, but it's another trip to the dealer (I got a break -no pun intended - only a week from now). Dealer says it'll take a couple of hours to fix. So, when this beast is out of warranty, and this happens, it'll be around $300 bucks to fix. And again, since they actually built in a release and installed a tool in the trunk, the odds are good this is going to happen again and again. Think I'll get the extended warranty while I'm at the dealer.
