for some of us, a car is not a financial investment but it just is a mode of transportation/ fun factor and we accept that it will depreciate over time. Therefore, not getting the money back for the option when selling should not be a major factor. Get it and love it while you drive the car. Its worth it.

I love bass heavy music and the premium sound is awesome. Should not be considered to be optional in my opinion. I don't care whether the next owner pays extra or not. The car is gonna lose loads anyway.

I had the premium sound in the E53 and was disappointed. Very different story in the E70. The sound is crisp and power seems limitless. The placement of the tweeters is great at the base of pillars at the four corners of the car. All very close to ear level. Base is great. Midrange is the weakest link but still quite strong and the equalizer that comes with the upgrade can provide some midrange boost.

What I can't say is how the standard audio sounds...I never heard it. But I am very happy with the premium and if sound is a priority for you then you won't be disappointed by this system.

FM audio with HD is phenomenal as is iPod audio. Enjoy.

Standard audio sounds horrible. Flat, no details - its even annoying when you are listening to the news.
For the money that can buy the Logic 7 one can get a very nice custom made system which can be dismounted from the car once it will be sold and shift to a new car.
More often than not such aftermarket systems sound much better compared to any OEM system. The OEM has Philips speakers...would you believe that?

i wish someone would post a pic of their equalizer settings... anyone? i couldn't seem to adjust them properly... so left them at standard... and it sounds pretty good overall (mostly listening to satellite music).

A definite yes for me. I don't think you should look at what it'll add in value to the car when you come to sell but what it would cost to replicate as an aftermarket system....the answer is that it than looks cheap.

BTW it doesn't come with the 6disc DVD changer in all countries. In the UK we still only get a CD changer and that is nothing to do with the speaker package anyway.
