My bad- I thought you all were speaking of paying over list- I apologize and hope I haven't offended anyone.

And no I'm not angry at anyone on here. Don't know where you get that.

Yes it does and a smart buyer negotiates the best purchase price before negotiating the best lease price.

The lease is based on what the car is "sold" for.

I guess that is why you put "UNDER" in caps.

Ordered a pretty loaded (no Sports Pack) 4.8i for my wife on 2/28 and negotiated to ~$1,800 over invoice. Given that it's an ordered unit and with the low options content, negotiating from $2,000 down to $1,500 over invoice is probably as good as it's going to get on your 3.0si.

Interesting comment about the Lexus offer (on the RX I assume?) as we're coming out of our Lexus lease and a buddy just went to see the new LX570 - they're not budging one penny from MSRP and ours is a volume Lexus dealer.

Good luck and tell us the outcome.

I just thought I rembered the tone of some of your most recent posts; I wasn't saying that you were offending anyone. It's really no big deal (that's what the smiley was there for!) but recently you've said:

Are you people on crack? They make tens of thousands of X5s every year- it isn't a Ferrari 599 for Christ's sake.

Puh-leez. I heard the same interview. The reporter did make it up. He was pulling the usual BS... ...And if you can't handle 4 bucks you probably shouldn't be driving an X car.

another moonbat ...

Hamman- Purveyors of German Rice
"We've got lot's of bolt on crap for your pimpmobile"
But a metal brake and accelerator cover for a street car? Yeah that's real cool. As long as you wear sneakers every time you drive.

Nitorgen does help- if you have a dedicated track car and really need to keep temps as consistent as possible. Many professional race teams use it for just that reason.
For the street I think it's a waste of time and money. $75 is disgusting.

I'm getting 11.8 in mostly city driving with almost 500 miles on her. I'm hoping it improves- I've been conciously trying to get it up and am a bit disappointed (no pun intended). The only other thing I find extremely annoying is the lack of a water temperature gaze. A stupid vacuum (ostensibly MPH) gauge instead? On a $70K vehicle? Absolutely no way to assess water temperature?
C'mon BMW. That's downright cheap and hardly worthy of the ultimate drving machine.

OMG your knowledge of history is appalling. Cynthia McKinney is a barking moonbat and you actually think she is capable of leading our country? And that she knows more about the military than any one of us?
With all due respect, I can only come to the conclusion that you are what Stalin would have described as a "useful idiot". You might want to look that up while you're rereading American history.
Where do you get moonbat juice anyway?

... My only real complaint is the deletion of a water temperature gauge for a worthless mpg indicator. Some bean counter should be shot.

Well it's also funny as sh*t. Don't make Wayne Brady have to choke a b*tch.

What the *&&%^^?
I asked the dealer about trading the Style 214s that came on my car (I have yet to pick the car up) for the Style 128s. He said they don't trade- fair enough- but then he stated that a modification has to be performed to make the 21 inchers fit. And that the cost (including the wheels which retail for $5,995) would be over $7,000. Of course I said no thanks.
But when I asked what the modification entails he stated I would have to call service....
Now I know this is BS- but has anyone else heard this line? I'm tempted to write BMW.... ....

My apologies to all, I have taken this way off topic!!!

Hey Arkay,

I see you're in Bergen. Did you do Difeo, Park Av, or Prestige?
Also, why no Sports Pack?

We're long time Prestige customers, including some of their other franchises.

As for the Sports Package, the X5 is for my wife and she didn't like the ride after test driving both Sports and non-Sports equipped cars - I've learned to pick my battles and this is NOT one of them!

i am new here and is getting ready to buy a X5 4.8. can anyone confirm to me that 'invoice' means the prices for the dealers, NOT the MSRP (sticker)? also, do you have any internet companies you recommend? I checked carsdirect.com and i believe they are less than two thousands lower than the MSRP.

Thanks for the help!

Invoice is not MSRP. It supposed to be "cost to dealer" but we all know that's not 100% true.
