My auto tailgate it possessed...

Okay, I think we have a problem Houston...

Whenever I unlock our E70, either with mine or my wife's key, the auto tailgate will open. Now, mind you, I am not pushing the button for the tailgate. Just the regular unlock button on the fob. The problem deepens when I try and close the tailgate. Then the boot lid closes, latches, and then opens again. This will go on five about 3-4 times, with a increasingly confused look on my face and frustration building. Then, it finally latches and closes.

Last night when I got in to drive home, I started the car (after having repeated the above cycle) and my demon tailgate opens as I am in reverse backing up. It closes and latches after two tries...

Now, after having used this morning, it did it only once. I am very confused, and almost afraid to drive the thing. I am going 100 miles south today for Easter and am locking the doors immediately upon entering the vehicle in hopes that it will exorcise whatever gremlin in messing around with me vehicle.

So, at least our 2nd issue (the first being rusting of the aluminum running boards)...So off to the dealer I go on Monday/Tuesday. This ordinarily wouldn't be that big an issue, but my E60 has two bent front wheels so I can't drive it until Friday when the new wheels are here.

Anyone else have this issue?
