this is very cool. it looks great! another benefit is that getting in and out is probably a little easier.

That is the X5 4.8i with the sport package which adds the flared fenders.

On a side note: The quickest way to tell a 3.0 from a 4.8 is the color of the kidney grills.

I have a 4.8 non sport and I dont see a difference. Where the hell is this flared fenders stuff people are talking about? Can someone point it out to me? The fenders look the same to me

Right above the wheel wells is the black trim. On non-sport X5 the black trim is flat. You should be able to see the flared black trim on the front and rear wheel wells.
