Jack placement for 2007 X5
I need to put the X up on Jack stands all four corners and have a couple of questions. I have read the article on this site on jacking, but still have some questions:
1) I have looked under the vehicle and I can't see anywhere to put the jack to lift so I can get jack stands underneath. Lots of flat sheet material under there to protect from road debris. I am not sure where the suspension arms arms are or what they even look like (as suggested in e53 posts). 2) The jacking point are recessed "cups" about 2" long x 1 1/2" wide and 3/4" deep. How do you get a standard jack stand to fit into the jack point? is this the best place for the jack stands? 3) Is there an adapter or pad to fit into the jacking recess that anyone knows about, my saddle cannot be removed. I was thinking about using hockey pucks? 4) Is it alright to just put the floor jack saddle under the jack point recess cup and not into the recess. When i do this it just does not seem right I keep thinking the jack point is going to break since it is plastic. 5) What is the correct procedure to get all four corners onto jack stands? Any suggestions and help would be appreciated.
