Pics: inside the OEM exhaust

Here are some shots of the inside of the OEM exhaust. Note the convuluted path that the exhaust gas must take, especially on the left side!

You may be wondering what I was doing cutting a stock exhaust open. It's not the exhaust that's on my car, but purchased from a local dealer for an 'experiment' and possible aftermarket possibilities.

Whole exhaust:

what's in the bags man? you stashing some key's?

i have never understood BMW muffler plumbing, more about quiet cabins than performance. my e36 had some dual chamber baffled nonsense weighing 40 lbs. i wonder i an e 46 m3 muffler would fit an E70.
