I have BMW Assist, and I'm still trying to fathom it out,.. AFAIK because the car has a sim card in it, apart from the emergency button on the roof,.. you call up the service through idrive, where you get your details sent to an operator, who can advise you of the nearest service that you are looking for, he can send the location to the cars Nav system and you just start your guidance as normal,.. as I understand it. (fitted to a Sept 07 E70 car)
