The only way round it is for me to input duplicate contact names for each of their numbers which doubles the size of my list and scroll time!

I have E70 which is a later version of X5 although I think just few month ago, they may have had an update. E46 may have older generation Bluetooth so dont know how well those work.
To add, Since my post, I have tried Bold, all versions of Curve as well as Storm and all worked flawlessly. I have also tried to sync Nokia Arte and that only synced the first of the contacts with same name so if I had two numbers for a person, only one would show up.
Samsung Innov8 from what I remember worked fine, although by now I dont remember, went through too many phones and no matter how you slice it, my preference is Blackberry although not the storm.

Verizon XV6800 (Sprint Mogul) pairs ok. The only issue I've seen is a delay in accepting a call.

Once you get the 700P paired maybe you should put
some of your tele#s in the palm address book favorite
section of the phone. That's what I had to do and it
downloaded all the numbers. I don't
believe addresses will be downloaded though.

The pairing was not complete as my address/contacts did not transfer but at least I could use hands free calls thru the car's speakers. Last week my phone crashed and Verizon gave me a new 700p. My 2 iPhone sync perfectly.

BTW, I think the BMW navigation should have a calendar and maybe notes or calculator or something. I know Acura has it, and it comes in handy.

My Blackberry storm works perfectly. My wife's does not (it wont upload her contacts) because she had an IT policy (set of rules that limit access and connectivity) on the phone. She is getting a blank IT policy one of these days to fix the issue.

So be aware that corporate phones may not work with BT

I have a Motorola Krave which syncs perfectly with my E92 M3; however, with my E70 X5 the phonebook won't sync.
