There's a [lighter] red 4.8is E53 in this area... it's pretty hot in person.

I was expecting that some of the X6 colors/trims and may be technology would make it to the X5. But this color...I don't think it looks good.

Since I am waiting for the Diesel X5, my hope is that they offer the red (Chatue.. SP?) interior color. Black X5 with red interior... that would a nice compo!! If not, I'll stick to saddle brown.

PS. Why BMW does not offer Dark Brown for the X5?... I think would be a nice color for it!

You mean the chocolate brown that is now available for some Mini models? That would be different...

... I do so much agree with you. A modern, dark brown colour would fit just perfectly IMHO.
So if you would be the first buyer, I'm queuing up... ... and trade my to-come X5 with spacegrey immediately...
Acutally I just saw a X3 today in a brownish colour, but that was a bit to light... don't know if it is a standard colour there...
Just wouldn't be too sure what colour to take for the interior when a dark brown would be outside...

Whatever it is called... I am not very familiar with BMW... I would be a first time buyer!

When I got my FX, I had two great colors to pick from, L. copper and the Beryllium (metallic brown).. and I ended with the copper.

The X5 comes in good colors, but nothing super unique. That is why I'm going with Black. I was really hoping for a dark brown for 2009, but not the VR. I think it is a hard sell for a color on the X6 and would be harder on the X5.
