Know what you mean. I didn't *really* want to like the E70 X5 after owning a 2002 X5 that I felt was too small...as in.....why not just buy a 5 series touring......and too choppy riding.

I tried hard to talk my wife in to a new generation V70 (because they are nice, roomy and cheap), but once she drove the X5 and I saw the .9% deal it was pretty much game over.

$2K below invoice on a nearly fully loaded vehicle didn't hurt either.

4 days in and so far I think it's a great vehicle. Wish I could have afforded the 4.8, but my wife seems happy with the acceleration of the 3.0 and it's her vehicle so..........

Gonna have to start digging in and reading more on BMW. Don't know the difference between an E70, V70, and my rear end. <grin>

V70 is the Volvo wagon!

E70 is BMW's internal production code number for the latest generation X5.

Any idea if this applies to special ordered vehicles as well as in stock vehicles? I know a lot of times financial incentives like these are only used to clean out existing stock. Not to mention the fact that most dealers' special order allocations are running out. I asked a CA at a popular dealer and he has yet to give me a definitive response. I can't go in person as I'm still stationed overseas.

I have a 3.0 on order right now but this may convince me to cancel and re-order if possible. Thanks!

I was told by 2 dealers it's dealer stock. But one also mentioned something about if you order it has to be delivered by July 31st not sure if that is 100% accurate though he didn't seem to really know. You can have them do a dealer search in your region or expand out further to see if there's one with the options, etc., you want. The downside is you would have to pay to have it shipped to you if it was too far to drive.

I got the same story. They are making room for 2009. Should be a good time to make some great deals if you can settle for second choice colors or options. My wife has been after me for a new X5 so we are going to look this weekend.

Same story with mine. They said there wasn't enough time left on the .9% deal to order one and have it delivered.
