I like the vibrating front passenger seat option THE MOST!! 8 years of experience and they cant even get those seats to stay still and solid... it vibrates like a dildo lol

Thanks Barry but that's not my issue. Perhaps airflow was the wrong choice of words. One vent doesn't blow as well as the others.

Exclamation Easy fix!

This is not a unique "problem" to cars only. The same is true in central ventilation in buildings aswell.
When the pipes to two or more rooms (or vents in this case) is not the exacte length and have the exacte the same bends, there will be a difference in the airflow.
This is why a ventilation expert will tune all the vents in a house so all blow the same. This is done by opening some vents fully and shutting others partially.

You can do this yourself!
The easy fix to get all vents to blow the same is to close the centeral vent partially. You will NOT get less air into the cabin (this amount of air is dependent on the fan speed).
What you will get is a little less air in the centeral vent, but MORE air in the other vents.
If you want to maintain the same airflow in the central vent, increase the fan speed a little to maintain the airflow.
Now all you vents will be the same!

For those that think BMW should have made sure all vents are 100% the same, think of it the other way; you would instead be pissed that BMW restricted the possible airflow in the central vents those times you wanted more air there!

So, adjust your central vent and be happy! That is why they can be adjusted.

The side vents on my X5 are exactly the same. I did find that if you turn off the rear AC you get acceptable airflow in the side vents, but if the rear ac is on you get little or no air.

That "tuning the vents" is what I was TALKIN' about originally, that is lacking !! ~ BTW, and for anyone's knowledge/amusement, it is done by "experts" in houses, and evened-out in other auto air units, by the addition/installation of "vent restrictor/s", INTERNALLY, off the main air output feed, and adjusted, (or factory set, in the case of auto air, IF it has it, which most do not), to even-out the output flow... closing one vent over the other is a much lesser cure, as it is much further "down the line", creating more "back pressure", rather than just diverting from the source, but in this case, 'specially since the distance is relatively short in the dashboard vents, the only one... obviously, if you want sides and middle even, after closing the middle to match, you'd hafta crank up the fan and noise further to compensate for the now lower flow in the middle... whew, now I'm even boring MYSELF...'sorry !!...

Maybe that's what happened . I thought it odd I just noticed this now. I usually keep the rear off, maybe it got turned on by mistake.

Thank you X5FX

Just curious.

TIA
Not all vents Blow the same...
