I had my X5 done as well and it came out very well. Just remember, when you need to trim to fit, make sure you cut the top rather than the bottom. This way, the visible part (bottom) has the clean original cut which will be flush with the grill frame. Also, make sure you stick it from bottom up. Just my 2 cents.

I bought the strips from a UK Ebay shop:
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Quality-Car-Accessories
The product is a Chrome Styling Strip although they sell the same item for use on different cars. The strip is 7mm wide (just right for the grill slats), slightly convex and comes in a roll 3m long. The front is metalic and the strip is easily cut with scissors or a knife. Kimg9582 is spot on with how to fit the strips - cut at an angle to minimise any gap between the strip and the chrome frame.

I did see the American Ebayer selling strips specifically for the E70. I don't know if the product is basically the same or different in any way.

Glad the majority agrees with me on this cheap and simple mod.

Simon

the 'American' version is pre-cut, but still need little trimming to fit.

What a fantastic idea! If they are approved for outdoor/automotive use and also weatherproof- all the better.

I don't know what to search for - I've seen them once and can't find them again... the US version. He might not be selling there anymore?

^ thx, very borderline on my decision... I kinda like the black/white contrast and these are $40 shipped... aren't the real things at $70? Would be a great deal if it were $15 for stickers.

look little harder. I got mine for $29 bid plus shipping (don't select "buy it now" and save $5. I think the titanium grill costs about $130.
