I also bought an OEM 18" spare tire that I toss in my trunk for long, out of town trips. I don't trust BMW assist so I just kept my AAA membership active. All you need is a cell phone and hopefully be in an area where there's signal.

Whatever people might say, having a flat tire on those run flats 200 miles away from the nearest BMW dealer can ruin a vacation. How many mom and pops tire shops will actuall carry wheels and tires for an E70?

Losing cargo space is better than having your E70 towed in the middle of your trip.

Do Euro Spec'd 4.8's come with a spare tire???

Honestly, I cannot understand someone's complaint about this... not that I want to argue.... but there are people that could be considered "hypocondriacts"....

IMO...you just bought a 70K+ vehicle that comes with a year of Assist....+ whatever your insurance company offers, which most el'cheapo insurance won't even cover, being that the truck holds too much value....so most should have some kind of road side assistance...

+ the benefits of run-flats...

Honestly, I don't see where anyone could complain or be uncomfortable with it.... To me...the benefits are actually better than jumping out and swapping out a spare for yourself...

I dunno why you wouldn't trust BMW Assist.... what could they possibly do?
