X5 4.8i where in the world is the JACK?

Sorry for the newbie question but I have an X5 4.8i and it has runflat tires and the two extra seats in the back, (so it doesnt have a spare tire) but I bought an extra runflat anyways and whenevr I make any long drives, I put it on the back just in case.

One thing I dont know however is.. where is the jack? I just read the manual and I don't find the location of the jack!

thanks!

No jack for the X5 with 3rd row seats. Will need to buy one.

Being that there is no spare tire, what would you need a jack for?

I was shocked that they don't at least come with an air compressor.

well I bought an extra tire, I figures this was something people did normaly when their cars don't come with one. figured the jack was standard issue.

Reasonable assumption, just not inline with BMW's thinking. The idea is that runflat tires combined with Roadside Assistance should give you everything you need in the case of tire problem. We all know that's not true but it probably covers 95% of cases.

I like the potential of being able to drive-on after getting a flat though. I've heard of a guy who was changing a flat in the shoulder of an interstate, got hit and lost two legs below the knee. I mean that is extreme but still I really like the benefit of driving away to a safer location, even if it means more noise/harsher ride. I like the ride and noise level anyway..don't think it's bad at all.

Safety is for a sure a key element with this. And unless you hit some seriously bad stuff on the road, or your tire was defective, you will not be tearing up your pricey wheels by driving to a safe location.

I guess it never bothered me, being that my M3 didn't come with a spare or jack either. Instead, it came with some fix-a-flat type stuff, and an air compressor. In which, I've owned for 4 years now, and have never needed either(knock on wood). Of course, I don't drive the M in places that I would the X.

The added storage, runflats, and weight savings are all pluses in my book. Had given the choice, I'd choose not to have the spare/jack, which are usually chinky anyways.

It's also one less thing to clunk around in the back of the truck.
