3.0si sluggish off the line?

We test drove a 3.0si last week, and the main major complaint was that the car was pretty anemic accelerating from 0mph; seemed ok once the vehicle was moving. The X5 we drove only had 90miles on the odo, so I'm wondering if it gets better post-breakin? Not sure how much it would improve. For reference, our E53 3.0 didn't feel this way despite being 35hp short.

The other thing we noticed was that there was a bit of general noise in the cabin. ie. wind, traffic noise compared to our E53 and a 535i we also drove.

Would appreciate any thoughts, esp those who've previously owned an E53 (3.0). tia.
