Help with a new X5

I'm on the verge of buying my wife a new, 2009 X5, but have heard production of the TT engines in the US should start around February of next year. Is this true? Have any official announcements been made yet? I'm willing to hold off, if this is the case.

I did a few searches, but came up empty handed. I'm sure this has been discussed numerous times, so I apologize if this is a stupid question. If you want to just reply with a few links to some threads, I can do the rest.

Thanks a bunch!

/C

No official announcements at all, but I personally think this will happen in roughly that timeframe, based on logic.

I haven't even heard any rumors about gasoline twin turbocharged engine showing up in Feburary.

But the diesel twin turbocharged engine will be introduced any time now. Maybe what you heard was in fact about the diesel TT?

Thanks a bunch. I figured Feb/March of 2009 was a reasonable guesstimate. My wife has been hounding me constantly about when we're going to pull the trigger. When I explain to her the differences in the new engines and why it's worth waiting for, she gives me the "Who gives a crap look!". Hahahahaha! Women!

No, it was definitely the petrol TT, here in the states. I'm willing to wait another 4-6 months if I have to...
