Why would it get auctioned at 2900 miles?
Kinda low miles for 2007 and car interior is dirty too for that low miles. Wonder if it had hurricane or flood damage.
Auctioned cars are not CPOs.

Auctioned cars are usually high mileqage and not CPOs. The questions you should ask the seller is "why was this car auctioned at 2900 miles? Who really was the first owner? What is the history? if BMW as first owner auctioned than was it damaged and repaired to be auctioned?"

This is not true. Do some research, lots of cars in auctions are good low mileage cars, but there are some bad ones as well. Dealers routinely auction off cars they can't sell, high and low mileage alike. And just because it was auctioned off, doesn't mean it can't be CPO'd or isn't CPO'd.

If you're not sure, do some research first. There's a ton of info out there, check out other sources.

Tom,

Sorry, can't help it. LeMansX5 is one of the more informed members here and you said "This is not true. Do some research...". Sorry again, sometimes I seem to find things funnier that I should...

I know dealers buy auctioned cars. But this particular car is low miles, with dirty interior, and auctioned by manufacturer(per Carfax). "Why would a dealer not be able to sell a 07 with under 3k miles?" There are costs involved in doing CPO. You can take your car to dealer, pay $5k and ask to be CPO'ed. I have seen that happen and I have myself spent some time at PA auction location mentioned in the Carfax link. In used car market you should not "assume anything" or you can end up in "ass-u-me situation" . Do a research on the forums here and you will find what members have done.

This one looks better. Comes off a corporate lease fleet. Lot of members here close to PaulMiller. Some member here may volunteer to check in person for you. You can get a day or week membership to www.galves.com to get an idea on car price to offer. Dealers use that site to price their used cars.

Galves is what the dealers use. Forget Kelley Blue Book or any of the others. If you have the Galves info they are unlikely to laugh in your face...
