allright guys apparently everyone thinks this is a very bad deal, but the way i see it its a normal deal and im saying this based on the residual because according to bmw the residual is 59% and if you add taxes, fees etc... the residual will go up to about 64% and thats exactly what the residual is on the deal they gave me...so can anyone explain me how is this a ripoff?

this is a horrific deal in many ways. Now, there is not enough information provided, ie, cap cost and the money factor that you are paying to determine how bad of a deal it is. But let me give one possible scenario of what the dealer is doing.

At an MSRP of 57k
Cap Cost 57k (you are "buying" the car at MSRP)
Cap Cost reduction of 4k
Dealer upcharge of .5% on the APR/Money Factor
Residual of 59% based on 36 months (current OCT rates)

You payment should be 737.30 plus tax.

To be honest, I can't even fathom getting to $900 without the dealer selling you the car for 4k OVER MSRP and adding even more of an upcharge on the Money Factor.

For 2009 models, the current lease terms are residual of 57% and the MF is 0.00200 (base, which they can and will try to mark up by 0.0004)

http://forums.roadfly.com/forums/fin...9085809-1.html

2007-X5, the residual doesn't change because of taxes, fees, or anything else (except term/mileage) - not sure what they're showing you.

Let's say they give you a $2K discount (should be almost a given, even on a 2009 model), then the monthly payment, including taxes and with your $4K down payment, would be $785.36.

This is definitely a very bad deal, I bought mine and my monthly payment is about 960, with 0down and 0drive off costs on a 60month term.

wow, i think no dealership would lease a $60,000 x5 for 700 a month...thats like 44% residual wich is crazy low..not even bmw's own residual is that low

According to the current deals on leases on BMWUSA it says $559/36 months on a MSRP of $50K with $2,850 down on an '08. So whatever that translates to on the '09s I don't know. I would still think it wouldn't be any more than $800/month max even if you are getting an '09 at $57K MSRP.

yeah but keep in mind that those deals shown on bmwusa does not include taxes, fees nor interest rates;so that adds up a lot more...and thats what i think a lot of people are missing that when you lease you still have to pay taxes and they still charge you interest rate and a very high interst for that matter...i think they charge you like more than 7% interest when you lease....
and the lease deal i posted on the first page allready includes everything(taxes, fees, interest rate, etc)

Ok well if that's the case maybe it's not too far off. BMW extended the .9% financing until 11/3 on '08s---the payment on the '09 lease would be the same on the '08 finance so why not get the finance ? I know people lease for their own reasons but seems like a no brainer with .9%.
