I currently drive a 335 Coupe that has the sports seats. Are they virtually the same as the E70? Some people have complained that it's hard to get in and out of the E70 Sports Seats and that they are not comfortable. I've never experienced either issue in the 335 so I want to know if they are indeed a different seat.

Both my test drives featured the base seats, and I found those to be like "sitting on a bench".

Thanks in advance.

I had a 3 series with sport package and I can tell you both seats are very similar. Actually the seat on the X5 feels better for being deeper and wider. I test drove the confort seats and they are nice, but I do not think they are worth the price differential. They have more adjustments, but the sport seats are just fine and are much much better than the "bench" seats on standard X5. With regards to get in and out, the difference is that the X5 is much higher than the 3 series so instead of landing on the seats like in the 3 series you will be climbing it to get in and out. It does not bother me and I can not imagine driving the back roads here in Colorado without sport seats. It is a lot of fun. Good luck and send pics of your car when it comes in. I know it will be difficult to find the time for it since you will be busy making excuses to drive somewhere.
