I was planning on getting new summer wheels/tires a week ago... then it snowed another 4" here in Washington.. you never know with moody weather we have been seeing lately.

Well, don't forget that depending upon where you live, the pothole season is typically at it's maximum at the time the snow stops and the temperature has daily variations from above freezing to below freezing. Most people's winter wheels/tires are a taller profile and more resistant to bending a wheel in a pothole. So even if you no longer need the winter tires for traction, you might want to consider waiting until the pothole fixing crews have been out in force for a few days.
