Everything is in my post but the selling price. He said they calculate at 5%. I can email him and get the exact selling price and percent if needed.

And yes, we need the selling price to use the calculator and get an accurate monthly.

OK, I did the math backwards on BMWUSA's Finance Website based on their X5 finance deal for the same terms. So here's what I'm paying...which turns out to be invoice on the vehicle + of course the fees out of pocket (and the $3k down if I even bother) that I mentioned in my last post. If this is done correctly it looks like I'm getting a pretty sweet deal...what do you guys think?

Nice try at it! But I think you are off.
The current BMWFS X5 3.0i lease is at .00225 (5.4%) on a 36 month lease. The residual is 60% at 10K. So at least that part works (57525 *.6 = 34515). Most dealers mark up the money factor a bit, so figure .00245 (5.8%), could be as high as .00255. Next is the price of the car. BMW is also offering a $2500 finance rebate on the X5 3.0i. By my calculations, the car is priced around $53,100 before the rebate. So that is around $4400 under MSRP. I don't know your exact equipment but it looks like you are getting the car very close to invoice. As I noted earlier, the dealer did mark the acquisition fee up $200. I could give you exact numbers if I knew the money factor and invoice. You can figure out the invoice price on edmunds.com. If you change your downpayment into multiple security deposits (5), it looks like you would save a little more. The payment goes up around $70 a month, but BMW returns $3000 to you at the end of lease (if I got my math right) All of this is approximate, but close. |

Don't forget to include the acquisition & other up front fees in the "other costs" line. I used this calculator & was shocked at how far off my numbers were when I started talking to finance because I had omitted them.
Also, the current buy rate on Xdrive 30 is .00225 or .00245 for 35d. I found that most finance guys will mark that up by at least .0002 and can mark it up by .0004. Where are you getting .00156? My deal is very close to yours and my payments with the 2500 Holiday Cash and 1000 deposit towards drive-off fees would be in the $700's. |

THe invoice on this is $52,950. So your calculating $53,100 (minus $2500 holiday rebate) = $50,600 selling price? If that's right then it's a better deal than I thought...lol...
pgaX5, how much were your fees? Other than the $200, do you see anything with mine that is not necessary and can be removed? Thanks everyone, I'll get the info directly from the horses mouth tomorrow and will post it. Maybe it'll help others get a deal for xmas if I am indeed getting the deal I think I am :-) The MSD thing really confuses me...They hold the money, I pay like they don't have the money but not as much because of not paying taxes on it? And you get the money back in the end... Just got an email back from the salesman, sent him this chart and he said it looks correct. NICE...that's $1,800 below invoice :-) Here's the updated #'s: Thank you for helping me figure this out!!! The wife and I are so happy right now ![]() ![]() Last edited by ArmyOfficer; 12-20-2009 at 07:33 PM. Reason: add MSD line & Updated chart |
