> the same service AAA offers can be added as "towing and labor"

Just be sure it really is "the same" service. My Mother had "the same as AAA" service with a monthly charge on her cell phone. When she had a problem, it took 6 calls and seven hours before they actually got a tow truck to her.

I've found, in the past, that AAA has the best coverage and service when you need it.

hhhm3 is an unknown quantity at this point
My insurance company includes free roadside assistance (up to $50 value).
You pay the the bill and the insurance will reimburse you back that cost.

The other thing is if you change your tires to non-RFTs, BMW roadside assistance will not be free (they will charge you) if it is related to tire issue.
Kinda ironic, if you have RFTs why do you need BMW roadside assistance if related to tires...?

For clarification purposes:

We've had AAA in the past and they call local tow companies for you, but they only allot you something like 5mi. before they start charging per mile (we had to pay for 1mi. on the spot)... the good thing though was that they were there in 15 short minutes while we waited at night on the highway shoulder.

The Allstate coverage covered up to $125 in towing cost so mileage may not be an issue going through them. The Geico coverage stated you are covered for towing to the nearest open facility that can repair you, then the rest is on you. Alternatively, you could choose to call your own and they simply reimburse you afterward. Is this better or worse than the 5mi. w/ AAA? Tough call. Huge membership cost difference though.

That's just a Canada thing right? Anyone confirm? I vaguely remember reading a thread on that.

AAA has different plans available. The one I have with AAA (AAA Plus RV) provides up to 100 miles of towing to your destination of choice.

That was already $50 wasn't it? Big difference from $16/year. I'm curious what else AAA offers in addition to towing (it was my wife who had it and I didn't look up details). We didn't use their discounts or free maps... it sounded good on paper but when it came down to it, they were of no use.

And sometimes just 2 out of those 3 will suffice.

For the same reason you would need a microwave oven
or anything else on my silly list. It's worth a good laugh...
