Carbon Black...it really depends on how the light hits it as to what color it looks like.

Thanks. I was going to get the sport package with Black Sapphire, but my SA let me know that the M-Sport would be available when my production slow was up. Then I figured I'd get the color that only came with that package...glad I did. I had it tinted the other day and it looks great.

However, it's already in the shop to get an ECU upgrade (at the very least). My ipods wouldnt play with the y-cable and the key memory is funky.

Sorry to hear about the electronic hiccups. My 4.8 had a couple early on (the infamous high battery drain message) but has been fine since.

My lease is up in a few months, and I would like to go with the 35d, which I test drove this weekend, but the lack of the M-sport package for the diesel in the USA is a bummer.

Nice--I haven't seen a 4.8 M Sport and Carbon Black is definitely unique. No Climate Pack ? You definitely need to tint the windows and also for sure get the clear bra for the front (unless you are leasing and don't care).

I didnt get the climate pack as I rarely have more than one passenger. I got rid of my 335 coupe because I wanted room for my new dog. I've already tinted it (15% in the back, 35% for driver and front passenger), but I passed on the clear bra. In my experience, you're going to get paint chips etc on your car whether or not you have a clear bra...unless you want to wrap your car in hard plastic, there are eventually going to be blemishes. I'll post tinted pics later this week once I get it washed.

That said, I do park it far, far away from other cars and drive gingerly through debris-filled road segments (aplenty here in Chicago).

I've had the clear bra on my e53 for 8 years now--I can't imagine what the paint would look like with little rock chips up front without it--especially black which is what I have. You are right you will always get some nicks but SUVs catch a lot more road debris and it's nice to have the protection. I am from Chicago originally (Barrington) so I know what you mean on the roads--another reason to get it.
